About

Camp Or L’Dor is a Yeshua-centered, spiritually transforming experience for Jewish teens. We empower young Messianic Jews to be passionate about Yeshua and Jewish living and to build lasting friendships within the wider Messianic Jewish community.

Every summer, our teens, counselors and staff fly from around the country (and sometimes abroad!) to gather for 2 weeks at camp. We don’t want distance to be a barrier to your camp experience!

Our teens start each day with lively Shacharit services and thought provoking workshops and discussions. As we move into the afternoon, we host color war, gaga tournaments, and attend activities sponsored by our host camp (zip lining and ropes courses to name a couple)! Evenings are often spent singing around a bonfire, making s’mores, and attending meaningful prayer services. In the middle of our session, campers experience a 3-day outdoor adventure trip to deepen community and encounter God in new and profound ways. Campers often say this is their favorite part of camp!

Our Story

In 2009, two New England-based Messianic Jewish congregations brought their youth groups together for an adventure in the White Mountains. With more enthusiasm than equipment, they hiked Mount Washington—the highest peak in the Northeast.

Something powerful happened on that mountain. The following year, Camp Or L’Dor was officially born.

From the beginning, we have been committed to three core values:

  • Yeshua and Jewish life are inseparable.

  • Jewish life through Yeshua happens best in community.

  • Outdoor adventure is a catalyst for transformation.

Over the years, camp has grown. We’ve laughed, loved, cried, and been transformed. Since our founding, we’ve created our own camp siddur, started healing prayer services, and developed a leadership training curriculum, along with much, much more.

In addition to summer camp programming for teens, we are building a kids’ camp, alumni network, and year-round support.

Our youth are our future. We are committed to helping them encounter G-d, build strong community, and create summer memories filled with joy, growth, and adventure.

Camp is a time where we learn where to stand in G-d’s Presence. I was able to encounter Him in ways I cannot describe. He knows what I need.

A: While Camp Or L’Dor was founded by two UMJC synagogues and continues to receive support from the UMJC, we operate as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are not formally affiliated with any particular stream within the Messianic Jewish world, but we value connection across the broader community. We have welcomed staff, leaders, and campers from many congregations and backgrounds within the Messianic Jewish movement and beyond. Our hope is to bring Jewish teens together from across the Messianic Jewish movement.

Q: Who is Camp Or L’Dor intended for?

A: Camp Or L’Dor is designed for teens with Jewish backgrounds who want to grow in their faith, deepen their Jewish identity, and build lasting friendships together. Our vision is to build a Messianic Jewish community that is intergenerational, mature, and long-lasting. Q: Where will I sleep?

A: Boys and girls are housed in separate cabins. Counselors will sleep in the same room, or nearby in a side room close to the door. During our camping trip we will set up a tent for you to share with your now best friends for two nights... complete with a zipper and rain cover.

Q: What will I eat?

A: At camp, we eat in the main dining hall. Our current camp offers ingredient kosher meals for us to enjoy (certified Kosher meat and separate meat and dairy meals). You’ll wake up to the beautiful smell of fresh cooked eggs, pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns and many more delicious and surprisingly healthy breakfast items! If you’re hungry throughout the day, Camp Or L'Dor staff are known for carrying around bedtime snacks of cookies, crackers, and jelly sandwiches.

Q: What about my dietary preferences?

A: Be sure to note all allergies and dietary restrictions in the health forms. For those who are vegan or vegetarian, we will support your choice by providing meat/egg/dairy-free options!

Q: How do I get to camp?

A:  If you are driving, we’ll see you there! If you are flying, it's very important that you coordinate your ticket with our Camp Admin. We offer transportation that leaves the designated airport at a specific time. When you arrive at the airport, our counselor team will be there to pick you up, help you with your luggage and lead you to our very awesome camp bus.

Q: Is there a packing list?

A: Yes! Nestled in our Parent Pack we send out after registering is a packing list. It has been recently updated to include a comprehensive list of what campers need.

Q: But will I be safe?

A: Our experienced staff are well-trained and prepared for all of our camp activities. We are grateful to have a dedicated camp nurse on site who brings all the Band-Aids and expertise you’ll need. Each camping trip is also guided by leaders certified in wilderness first aid.  If your camper takes medication, just note it on the health forms — our staff will handle it carefully and responsibly.

I can trust G-d so much more now than at the beginning of camp. I know now that G-d is here with me.
